Stretch Goals and Survey Results

Hi Backers,

Thank you guys so much for pushing us right past the goal – wow! And, with no signs of slowing down we hope you are as excited as we are. Because of your support, we can now officially say that ShockStop will be available in early 2016. Thanks to everyone who participated in the quick survey we sent out – it was great to learn a little bit about the group.

Here is what we learned about you (besides that fact that you are all awesome):

  • For a lot of you this is not your first Kickstarter
  • Most of you are road cyclists who ride for fun, fitness, and commuting
  • You ride on all kinds of surfaces (roads, gravel, trails, etc.)

Here is what we learned about add-ons and upgrades:

  • You love carbon
  • You want us to make lots of integrated accessories
  • You already have plenty of bike jerseys

Based on your input, we will be adding two stretch goals: first, if we reach $40,000 we will offer two integrated accessories, and then if we can reach $75,000 (that’s why they call it a stretch goal) we will offer a carbon version of the stem.

Integrated Accessories: if we reach the first stretch goal we will offer a bike computer mount (tentatively compatible with Garmin, Joule, CatEye, Mio, and Magellan) and a utility mount that puts a small section of tube in front of the stem that can be used to mount anything you would normally put on your handlebar (bike computer, phone, light, etc.). If you have ideas for other great accessories, let us know in the comments or send us an email.

We will provide more details about the carbon version as things progress, so stay tuned.

We are excited about the integrated accessories and the carbon but we need your help to get us there – so, get out there and tell the world!
